Services We Offer:The variety of services offered by the Kern Assistive Technology Center (KATC) seek to enhance the functional skills and independence of our participants. Those services include: Perform AT (Assistive Technology) Assessments - designed to determine the right technology to meet their needs. We recognize that the needs of our participants may vary. Our goal is to maximize the learning potential with our assistive technology assessments. Provide Professional Training - the collective experience of our staff includes the right mix of technology knowledge and understanding for persons with disabilities.Provide Loan Equipment - access to loan equipment is available to our participants, their families, professionals and classrooms. Provide Information and Referall- Research technology and equipment that will best fit the individual.Coordinate KRC IDA Program-recruit and enroll participants that want to buy a first home, start or expand a micro enterprise, or go to school. Participants receive a 4:1 cash match for up to $1,000 in savings. Must be low income and a client of Kern Regional Center or taking care of a client of Kern Regional Center to qualify.
