• The Idaho State Police began as the Bureau of Constabulary in 1919 and later became the Idaho State Police when the Idaho State Police Act was signed in 1939.Headquartered in Meridian, the Idaho State Police (ISP) is a force of law enforcement professionals that provides 24-hour statewide police services. Along with our city, county, state and federal public safety partners, we are working diligently to prevent crime, apprehend fugitives, and improve traffic safety. We also provide quality support services through our Alcohol Beverage Control, Regional Communications Centers, Forensic Services, Brand Inspection, Bureau of Criminal Identification, Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), the Idaho Criminal Intelligence Center, Planning, Grants and Research, and the statewide Public Safety and Security Information System (ILETS). ISP has six districts to serve all of Idaho. Services located throughout the state are as follows: Coeur d'Alene - District 1, Regional Communications Center North and a Forensic LaboratoryLewiston - District 2Boise/Meridian - District 3, Regional Communications Center South and a Forensic LaboratoryJerome - District 4Pocatello - District 5 and a Forensic LaboratoryIdaho Falls - District 6ISP professionals working in support of our public safety mission also include those in Evidence Management, Human Resources, Financial Services, Information Technology, Facilities and Warehouse Management and Fleet Services.
