As the coal business gradually became obsolete, the contractors equipment business became the main focus of the company. Today, the company specializes in the sales, rental and service of equipment, tools and supplies to construction, industrial and government markets. In addition to product expansion, the company has expanded from its one location in Utica to additional locations in Watertown, New York and Syracuse, New York, and is now run by third and fourth generation family members. McQuade and Bannigans full product line consists of power and hand tools, construction equipment, safety products, material handling equipment, MRO supplies, cutting tools, fasteners, construction products and chemicals and, recently added, complete custom signage services. As a small business competing against better known, national companies offering the same product lines, McQuade and Bannigan strives to set itself apart by making customer service its highest priority. Each branch has a showroom staffed by knowledgeable inside and outside sales personnel, a well-stocked warehouse and a fleet of trucks to deliver products to its customers when they need, where they need it.
