• U.S. Submergent Technologies (USST) is officially the new name of Polston Applied Technologies. The name change comes as part of an aggressive initiative by U.S. Submergent Technologies to redefine the wastewater industry, establishing the separate and distinct category of Submergent Cleaning. Submergent Cleaning is the ability to remove sand, grit and residuals from wet infrastructure primarily tanks and pipes. U.S. Submergent Technologies developed the Model 949 Combination³ Truck and the GritGone process (formerly the Polston Process®) to address a pervasive problem in the wastewater industry the absence of a system powerful and versatile enough to remove the accumulated sand, grit and rag material that are exposing wastewater collection and treatment systems to rising operating costs and decreased efficiencies. The use of USSTs proprietary Combination³ technology equipment means: USST Combination³ trucks function as standalone cleaning systems for large-diameter pipes, tanks and other hard-to-clean environments. The GritGone process can take place in surcharged (wet) conditions, enabling facilities to remain in service during cleaning with no need for bypass pumping. The proprietary capacity restoration services of USST help utilities extend the life of their infrastructure, saving both time and money.
