Get Full AccessDescription
- WORKac is a 40 person New York City-based firm known for architecture and urban planning projects that engage issues of culture and the environment with vision and pragmatism. Since the founding of WORKac in 2003, principals Dan Wood and Amale Andraos have achieved international acclaim for projects that reinvent the relationships between the city and nature, the future of working and living, and between historic structures and new interventions. From initial concepts to construction details, each project is studied and tested to produce project-specific solutions. WORKacs recent projects include a masterplan for a new cultural center on New Holland Island in St. Petersburg, Russia, a renovation and addition to the Blaffer Art Museum in Houston, Texas, Edible Schoolyards PS216 and PS7 in Brooklyn and Harlem in association with Alice Waters Chez Panisse Foundation, and a competition-winning Assembly Hall in Libreville, Gabon.
