• In 2009, Emmy-nominated producer, Simon Lythgoe partnered with his television mogul father, Nigel Lythgoe and his newly formed company, Nigel Lythgoe Productions to launch Legacy Productions. Legacy Productions is an international television production company based in Los Angeles, California.The company specializes in, but is not restricted to, nonfiction and reality programming for the major broadcasting and cable networks in the United States and around the world. Legacy Productions also produces scripted television, with an emphasis on drama and comedy. The father and son producer duo Nigel and Simon Lythgoe have such an expansive range of experience, it was only natural for the two of them to combine their skills and create Legacy Productions. Their combined experience covers all genres of television, having produced shows in three different continents. Their most notable productions being the award winning American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, produced for the Fox Network.Through the Los Angeles-based Legacy Productions banner, the father-son production team has already cemented partnerships with a number of producers and executives in Hollywood, with a slate of 10 shows in development for 2011. Among Legacys charter group of partners are veteran producers from Americas Got Talent, The David Letterman Show, Star Trek: The Next Generation and various dick clark productions.
