• Founded in 2011, BES is being established as a leading specialty contractor, both locally and in the greater Mid-Atlantic Region. Our firm was founded by David Walsh, who directs all daily operations of the company. David began working in the Hampton Roads construction industry 37 years ago as a marine construction carpenter. Within a year, he quickly rose to become a lead foreman, and spent the next several years growing his skills, and advancing his leadership abilities. He diversified his experience by holding various positions from sheet metal carpenter to electrical planner. In 1987, David decided to break out on his own. He started what would become one of the leading electrical contracting firms in the Mid-Atlantic Region. As CEO, he led a firm of 150 electricians, equipment operators, administrators, and construction managers to build some of the Regions most recognizable projects. In 2011, David decided to step out again and started Brite Electrical Systems. This time David is the sole, majority shareholder affording more control and flexibility over the firms growth. Under Davids leadership, Brite is poised to soon become one of the Mid Atlantics top specialty contractors. BES has the resources and strength to provide the highest level of service on a broad variety of projects. Our diverse portfolio already includes significant projects in the renewable energy, power, industrial, transportation, health care, government, commercial, cultural, retail, and facility maintenance markets. Our ability to self-perform significant aspects of any project gives us a competitive advantage. BES is centrally located in Chesapeake, VA but performs work throughout the Mid-Atlantic Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
