• Established in 2005 to provide merit- and need-based scholarships to Middle Tennessee students pursuing business-related degrees, the Scarlett Family Foundation quickly expanded to support education for Middle Tennessee students of all ages. In 2008, the Foundation awarded its first grants addressing other educational needs to Middle Tennessee-based non-profit organizations.Since then, grants addressing literacy, early-childhood development, K-12 business education and other educational innovations have helped strengthen the educational structure of Middle Tennessee and prepare students for success. Programs providing comprehensive after-school academic support such as tutoring, mentoring and college-access have also benefited from Foundation support.Most recently, it expanded its Fall 2015 scholarships to include majors in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). As the Foundation continues to uncover new ways to improve education, it looks forward to many years of providing better educational opportunities for Middle Tennessee students of all ages.
