• DirectEd was founded in 2007 by a charter school teacher who envisioned an agency that would specialize in meeting the unique needs of charter schools. By understanding how charters differ from traditional schools, DirectEd focused on recruiting individuals who were passionate about education. In addition, DirectEd wanted to provide a way for new educators to experience charter schools through substitute teaching. And, this in turn led to charter school administrators having the opportunity to see potential new hires in action. Years later, DirectEd continues to provide a career pathway for many new educators. And, we are proud that numerous DirectEd clients have found the right match for their school in DirectEds sub pool. By 2011, DirectEd added a special education agency to meet the significant challenges being faced by charter schools in the area of special education. DirectEd developed a team to address these challenges and now offers a full suite of special education services including special education consulting and management. In 2014, Mediscan, Inc., a national company, acquired DirectEd. This acquisition has provided DirectEd with the stability and infrastructure to continue meeting the growing needs of its clients. DirectEds mission is to continue to provide quality solutions that support the work of charters and to become partners with the schools we serve.
