- Desert Island Restaurants are about more than food theyre about the experience and the Aloha spirit. When CEO Randy Schoch started Desert Island in 1995, he had a vision to grow a thriving organization that provides exceptional experiences and opportunities for our guests, team members, and stakeholders. Since then, we have opened many restaurants across many states, but one thing has remained the same: our dedication to exceeding expectations in everything we do. The company operates five Ruths Chris Steak House restaurants and two Romanos Macaroni Grill restaurants throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The company also has four Ling & Louies Asian Bar and Grill restaurants throughout Arizona, Idaho and Texas. All Desert Island brands have garnered success and acclaim, winning numerous accolades and becoming popular venues for visitors and residents alike. No matter how far we grow, or which desert or island our next restaurant calls home, Desert Island Restaurants will always be rooted in the Aloha spirit.
