• World Institute of Pain (WIP) is a non-profit, professional membership organization and institute for global advancement of education, training, and certification of physicians in pain management. Through Pain Practice, the official journal of WIP, physicians worldwide contribute to the scholarly exchange of multidisciplinary articles on pain and analgesia. Through the Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) program, WIP has certified over 900 physicians representing 60 countries who have demonstrated the highest performance standards in clinical pain practice. Through the Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist (CIPS) certification, WIP with the World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasonography are strengthening the skills and applications of ultrasonography in interventional pain practice. Through WIPs Excellence in Pain Practice Award, pain centers whose directors submit to an assessment are recognized for excellence in clinical practice, education, training and research. Through WIPs World Congress, the largest conference for practicing pain physicians, pain specialists worldwide promote consensus building on the effectiveness of existing techniques and therapeutic performances. Through regional hands-on workshops and symposia, WIP facilitates the total networking experience by bringing together local and global experts in pain medicine to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based, and practical educational experiences.
