Biofiltro

Description

• BioFiltro is an international wastewater filtration company with subsidiaries operating in the United States, New Zealand, and Chile. Our patented BIDA® System has a 26 year proven track record, operates in over 129 plants worldwide, and filters billions of gallons per year of industrial and municipal wastewater. By converting wastewater into a reusable asset and contaminants into natural and nutritious soil amendments, our systems have both an economic and environmental edge for our clients. Harnessing the power of aerobic bacteria and worms, the BIDA® delivers removal rates of up to 99% of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS) and 90% for Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen and Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) in as little as 4 hours. Clients are able to secure cleaner water onsite that complies with water discharge permits, land application water quality parameters, and/or permits lower industrial sewage fees. The BIDA® system does not employ the use of chemicals and, due to its passive aerobic design, uses up to 85% less energy than conventional solutions. The physical environment in which our plants operate is equally diverse with plants installed on the frozen continent of Antarctica, rainy Patagonian fjords, and Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world, BioFiltros technology consistently delivers in even the more extreme conditions. Our state of the art technology earned us the Sustainable Wastewater Treatment Technology Award at the 2011 Global Cleantech Open in Silicon Valley, USA. In 2014, our entrepreneurial spirit and innovation enabled BioFiltro's cofounders to be selected as High Impact Entrepreneurs by Endeavor, which is a leading global nonprofit that searches, selects and supports the best entrepreneurs from around the world. BioFiltro has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the Guardian, and Reuters.
