• A full featured trading platform. It provides multi-asset-class order management, routing, execution management, market data access, compliance reporting functions and post trade functions.Marx is implemented using a service oriented architecture. All of the major functions of the Trading System can be accessed as web services by third party applications via SOAP. For example MS .NET components or Oracle OAS applications can place orders, receive execution reports, query account status and P&L, and other related functions. This allows Marx to participate as a component in the total enterprise work flow of modern financial institutions.Marx can interface to market data feeds via programmable feed handler modules. A handler module simply translates incoming market data updates into a standard form and manages client subscription requests to the feed vendor if required. Several major feed formats are currently supported and custom support for other formats can be implemented with a minimum amount of development.The Marx Trading Platform is entirely implemented using open source J2EE technology and runs on the JBoss J2EE server. It will run on any platform supported by JBoss including Linux, MS Windows 2000/2003/2008, Solaris, and other major server operating systems. All that is required are a Java 1.5 or better JDK and a MySQL 5.0.17+ database server. For small low volume installations the entire platform can be installed on a single server. The MARX Platform Client application will run on any system which has a Java 1.5 or better JRE installed.
