- The Tampa Bay Rebels are Tampa's top minor league basketball team. Since 2005 we have been the only minor league team to consistently travel throughout the world to compete against top teams from other countries. We have traveled to Mexico, Argentina, and Cancun and plans are underway to travel to Brazil, Spain, and Eastern Europe. Additionally, some of our current and former players have competed in leagues in Brazil, Italy, Finland, Mexico, Uruguay and Portugal.We also have first-hand relationships with international clubs, coaches, agents, referees, and FIBA Americas. These relationships have allowed us to to travel throughout the world competing in events in addition to allowing us to bring FIBA-certified referees to Tampa to host clinics for local and regional referees. The clinics allow the FIBA representatives an opportunity to educate American referees on international rules and allows for both sides to share and discuss situations that they have been presented with at various competitions.
