• Volunteer Center McHenry County is excited about our mission strengthening nonprofits. The classes we host are making changes. Agencies are looking at their organizational practices. Our volunteer information and referral program is creating connections. Our Human Race and grant-seeker tools are opening doors to new support. Annually we provide learning experiences that develop board members, executive directors, development directors, volunteer managers and volunteers supporting local organizations.Our information and referral program will help you connect with a local nonprofit. Our member agencies post volunteer needs and donation needs with us. You can connect directly with agencies via our website. You can also come into our office or talk with us over the phone to get that connection going. January 2015 the Center became a Foundation Center Partner Network Site. Anyone can come into search for grants. We have volunteers that can help you understand how to best utilize the tools. Our Human Race has turned into a great community event supporting local nonprofit organizations - lifting up missions and increasing support. Annually this race happens the 4th Sunday of April.
