Weve increased our footprint as the largest freestanding independent outpatient imaging provider in southeast Louisiana by acquiring two centers on the Northshore. DIS now serves people at 71154 Highway 21 in Covington and 1310 Gause Boulevard in Slidell.We strengthened our commitment to the greater New Orleans area by investing in technology that further strengthens our position as the outpatient imaging provider of choice for physicians and consumers. In May 2013, the DIS Womens & Advanced Imaging Center in Metairie became home to a 3 Tesla (3T) MRI system unlike any other found within a non-hospital setting in our area or within the Gulf Coast. While others may be uncertain about the future of health care, our organization remains focused on how can continue to best serve physicians, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, chiropractors and the public with high-quality imaging that is much more affordable than any local hospital. Weve continue to add new procedures.Diagnostic Imaging Services began an exclusive Prostate 3T MRI service that combines ultra high field MRI with an advanced digital imaging tool that pinpoints and identifies areas of concern that could be prostate cancer. We also introduced Magnetic Resonance Enterography, an exam often used by physicians to determine the extent of small bowel disorders such as Crohns disease. By using MR technology, DIS eliminates any exposure to medical ionizing radiation to the person having the test.
