• Veil (dba of Fund Investor Toolkit, LLC) seeks to complement the investment teams at institutional fund investor and professional family office firms. Our founding philosophical goal is better services at a lower price. To accomplish both of these components, Veil relies heavily on its professionals' background as investors rather than sales or software programming--while also operating in a lean environment and keeping a sharp eye on company cost structure. Veil is excited to have launched its first SaaS-based service in December 2014. Veil's GP discovery service (www.fundveil.com) enhances the sourcing capabilities of all institutional fund investors while attracting the best emerging and small/mid-sized general partners of alternative investment firms. Simply put, we believe this service will be THE online place to selectively complement institutional fund investors' own diligence and investment networks.In addition to Veil's GP discovery service, we recently launched pilot versions of Concierge and The Private Investments Calendar for LPs and GPs.Concierge curates services for LPs and GPs. These can range from manager background checks to deep dive diligence. For LPs, one model is to find the best in class and create a group deal where a service can be shared among a small group of LPs (usually evaluating the same manager) at a 40%, 50%, 60% discount that service's normal cost. It's Priceline meets Groupon, since LPs can set the rate they would pay for a service.The Private Investments Calendar is the definitive calendar of industry conferences and gravitational annual meetings that bring many LPs and GPs into close proximity. It's over on www.privcalendar.com, and we encourage visitors and forwards to peers. While it's only in a pilot stage, the calendar already contains events that would take days for man hours to compile on your own. And, we keep it fresh. Stay tuned for some neat enhancements.
