• Teens To Trails (also known as T3) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing opportunities for Maine teens to experience the outdoors through a variety of programs that promote high school Outing Clubs across the State.Outdoor experiences are critical to the healthy development of our youth, providing them roots upon which to build their lives. Teens live healthier happier lives when they feel connected to the natural world around them. We are increasing public awareness of the importance of the connection to a teenagers mental and physical wellbeing as we battle against nature-deficit disorder.Outing Clubs are the most effective and efficient means for engaging teens in the outdoors. T3's initiatives enable school committees to offer outdoor activities while empowering teens to start their own clubs. Teens To Trails will ensure that every Maine teen has the chance to get outside through our biennial Outing Club Rendezvous and Spring Thing events, a free Outing Club guide for new Clubs, and our Grants-to-Clubs Program to assist with transportation costs, safety training & access to proper equipment.T3 recognizes that there is no shortage of wonderful places for teens to explore in Maine and so do our many T3 Partners. We are building a network of partners that includes knowledgeable land managers, outdoor-oriented organizations & businesses, colleges, Registered Maine Guides and other enthusiasts. Through this network, we are linking teens to the many Maine people and places available to help them experience the outdoors. Teens To Trails is the umbrella for the Association of Maine Outing Clubs, a network of Outing Club Advisors working to ensure their students are able to experience the outdoors as part of their high school experience.We look forward to the day when all teens have access to outdoor experiences, are healthy & safe, and are learning about their natural world while they learn about themselves!
