The nitrogen gas displaces resin in the thick sections of the part and is vented out after the plastic has cooled and before the part is ejected from the mold. Other benefits of GAS-ASSIST molding include: faster production times, improved structural strength through precise ribs and bosses, increased stiffness-to-weight ratio, and reduced warping.
