Hollywood studios have been using the storytelling concept for over five years. After being invited to teach transmedia marketing at a business school, we realized that we are becoming thought leaders in cross platform branded storytelling. Basically, we develop a company's story or brand by using multiple channels. Live events and online platforms (owned or earned) are employed as part of the narrative - instead of just a random place to broadcast. Social media is not new - before modern communications and the Internet - word-of-mouth was the only way to spread the news about an excellent product or service. Making the audience (visitor) care enough about the message to engage with it is our main objective and we measure all interaction with analytics. Following the lead of billion dollar companies in the U.S. who increased their experiential marketing budgets by over 10% last year, we also want to encourage and help businesses to host live events where their clients, prospects, influencers and even vendors receive face time, handshakes and eye contact.
