• Local architect Dyke Nelson has formed DNA Workshop. Prior to starting his own practice, he was a partner and lead designer at Chenevert Architects in Baton Rouge for eight years. During his time in Baton Rouge Nelson has worked on numerous projects ranging from historic renovations to large mixed-use buildings and has become one of the regions leaders on sustainability. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional and has completed three LEED certified projects and has six more projected to be, including the historic Tessier Buildingthe oldest commercial building in Baton Rouge. He also remodeled and expanded his family home, which was featured on the show Renovation Nation on Discoverys Planet Green channel. Before moving to Louisiana, Nelson was a job captain for Gensler Architecture, Design and Planning Worldwide in San Francisco, California. There he was responsible for coordinating large corporate office projects and commercial interior projects such as the corporate headquarters for PeopleSoft. While in San Francisco, Nelson also worked with RLS, an audio, visual and technology consulting firm, providing architectural design on highly technical spaces including several broadcast facilities. Nelson is licensed in LA, MS, CA, OK and AR. Dyke Nelson is a member of the United States Green Building Council and is actively involved in the AIA. Locally, he serves on a variety of boards such as, Baton Rouge Area Red Cross, Friends of Hilltop Arboretum, and the Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council.
