• Wisconsin Parkinson Association is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves people with Parkinson disease and their loved ones in Wisconsin and the surrounding areas. Since its inception in 1984, WPA has provided information and resources about Parkinson disease to enhance public education and awareness of the disorder and to support people with the disease. Its efforts have been achieved in large part through more than 130 support and exercise groups, educational meetings, and resources and materials on PD. Located in Milwaukee, WPA is committed to helping its local community. Wisconsin has at least 20,000 persons living with Parkinson disease one of the largest populations of Parkinson patients in the United States. WPA distributes written materials to its members and to the community; offers referrals, a resource library, and educational conferences; and conducts education training opportunities of healthcare professionals who serve the Parkinson population.
