- The Farmers Alley Theatre is an AEA (Actors' Equity Association) SPT (Small Professional Theatre). It is currently Southwest Michigan's only year-round professional, Equity Theatre. Farmers Alley is a 501(c)3 non-profit performance company dedicated to producing popular and high-quality works in the Downtown Kalamazoo area in a unique and intimate setting. We take pride in bringing in the best talent from across the US while also celebrating the Kalamazoo actor. Several notable Broadway performers have traveled to work in our intimate 100 seat theatre including Barbara Marineau (Beauty and the Beast), Lauren Kennedy (Spamalot, Side Show), Michelle Duffy (Leap of Faith), Trey Ellett (Rent), Ann Sanders (Leap of Faith, Allegiance), Scott Coulter (renowned cabaret singer), Hannah Elless (Godspell, Bright Star), Ryan Vasquez (Wicked, Waitress) and Teri Bibb (Phantom of the Opera) to name a few.
