- Allied Works is an interdisciplinary architecture and design practice with offices in Portland, Oregon and New York City. Founded by Brad Cloepfil in 1994, the practice is defined by a deep concern for the landscape, human experience and the art of building, as well as the preservation and enhancement of the public realm.In recent years Allied Works has completed a wide range of cultural, commercial, educational, residential and urban design projects. Among these are the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Colorado, a feature animation facility for Pixar in Emeryville, California, the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan, the Seattle Art Museum, the Dutchess County Residence in New York and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. Current projects include a master plan and visitor facilities for Sokol Blosser Winery in the Willamette Valley, the National Music Centre of Canada in Calgary, Alberta, the Spaulding Paolozzi Center in Charleston, South Carolina and the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. In addition to the firms building projects, Allied Works is engaged in theoretical and applied design projects at all scales, ranging from custom furniture and prototypes for wider distribution to large scale landscape and planning proposals for sites across the globe.
