• The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation (EMCF) seeks to transform the life trajectories of Americas most neglected youth by making large, long-term investments, frequently in partnership with other funders, in programs with a potential for growth and compelling evidence they can help more young people become successful, productive adults.Edna McConnell Clark, a daughter of the founder of Avon Products, and her husband, Van Alan Clark, consolidated the Foundation in 1969. EMCF began in 1999 to concentrate its resources on economically disadvantaged young people and the organizations that serve them. It helps high-performing nonprofits develop business plans, organizational capacity, and evidence of their programs effectiveness so they can expand and improve the life prospects of thousands more youth. The Foundation has given over $917 million in grants since 1970, and as of April 30, 2016 its assets were approximately $962 million. President Nancy Roob has led EMCF since 2005.In December 2016, EMCF announced its decision to accelerate its spending in order to maximize its impact, sunsetting the foundation and spending all of its resources within a decade.
