• Raven is an owner-operated carpentry company with a home-office and shop in San Francisco. Raven specializes in historic preservation, restoration, and re-creation of San Francisco house-parts. We limit our work to San Francisco homes built during the 1800s to early 1900s. We specialize in the repair of these particular structures because antique house-parts can always be reconstructed from raw materials.Our standard is to match the quality of the original construction of your home. We preserve as much of any original house-part as possible. Replica parts and sections of new wood are carefully installed to provide seamless transitions between new and old.We maintain a mobile shop and a significant stock of re-claimed lumber and antique Victorian door hardware. Our uses of modern materials are generally limited to products specifically produced for historic conservation and marine applications. Raven entry doors are replicas of surviving San Francisco doors and doors from our collection of original catalogues from the 1800's.Over the last three years, Raven has carried out historic preservation and restoration projects, large and small, on over 65 pre-1900 and registered historic buildings in San Francisco. Raven has experienced significant growth going into our third year. We attribute our success to a knowledgeable client base, clearly defining our scope of work, meeting costs, meeting completion dates, and restricting our work to a specific market.
