This patented process takes advantage of soluble bromide ion present in flowback and produced water, which is very difficult and costly to dispose of. This new methodology utilizes the bromide ion as a precursor for creating an inexpensive and efficacious biocide. BrineTEC Biocide Promoter is introduced prior to the blender, which allows for two significant advantages. First, it allows for the analysis of biocide effectiveness prior to going down hole, allowing for dosage adjustments on the fly to ensure efficacy. Second, it significantly reduces the potential for a biocide to either become neutralized by the frac package, or having the actual biocide interfere with frac package components. DirkThomas Solutions, LLC utilizes a small foot print on-site mobile laboratory to monitor all phases of operation and testing.
