• Founded in 2013, VentureLab is a non-profit organization that is helping create the next generation of innovators and changemakers. We develop free and open source K-12 entrepreneurial learning curriculum that provide youth and girls with the skill set and mindset necessary to anticipate and meet the challenges of our evolving world. By teaching the key mindsets of entrepreneurial thinking, including creativity and design-thinking, we prepare youth, and especially girls, to think critically, take calculated risks, and innovate. We also provide instructors with the training and support they need to unlock their students entrepreneurial potential. Over the past decade, there has been a significant growth among science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) jobs, triple that of non-STEM occupational fields. Additionally, startups and young businesses account for about 70% of gross job creation and disproportionately contribute to net job creation (U.S. Census). The challenge is that the current classroom education system is falling behind in teaching students how to think entrepreneurially, identify and anticipate diverse societal needs and create products and services that will fill those needs. In this changing career landscape and an increasingly competitive global marketplace, we need more visionary, risk-tolerant, and enterprising kids . With VentureLab, students grow into passionate innovators while they gain the confidence and skills to transform their ideas into products, companies and jobs that shape our society.
