- WriteOutLoud is committed to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading short stories aloud for a live audience.Founded by San Diego actors Veronica Murphy and Walter Ritter, WriteOutLoud delivers a unique entertainment experience.A typical WriteOutLoud performance includes short stories & perhaps a poem or two, by different authors from different time periods, all relevant to a central theme. Accomplished actors, carefully chosen and directed, bring the narration, characters and nuances of the stories to life.Many of us were read to as children by mothers, grandfathers, teachers. But as adults, we rarely have the opportunity to sit back and listen to a story read to us aloud.Thats what WriteOutLoud provides for the San Diego Community.Programs include:TwainFest: an annual celebration of Mark Twain and his contemporaries in Old Town San DiegoThe Big Read: as part of the NEA programVoices of Ireland: annual St. Patrick's Day eventshort story readings throughout the year
