- Hochhauser Blatter is a multi-disciplinary architecture firm founded in 1990 by Jan Hochhauser, AIA, and Jay Blatter, AIA. Both principals bring to the firm extensive experience in land-planning, pre-development analysis, land-use entitlement work, architectural design, and project management. We are comprised of a diverse staff of qualified architects, engineers, and graphic artists, and with offices located in both Santa Barbara & Westlake Village, CA, we are always looking for creative, qualified individuals to add to the strength of our team. LAND PLANNING & SITE DESIGN: Integration of architectural design in the early stages of development allows for the creative exploration of the developer's vision for the project. The firm assists in developing economic pro-formas, market feasibility models, and financing packages for use in planning, fund-raising, and marketing. - Planned Residential Communities - Mixed-use - Institutional Campuses - Historic Adaptive Re-use SENIOR HOUSING: The firm plays an active role in re-engineering existing facilities to meet the modern prototype of retirement living. Interactive environments, ADA compliant floor plans, and way finding landscape are all integrated into our designs. - Assisted Living - Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Programs - Continuing Care Communities - Congregate Care - Skilled Nursing RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL DESIGN: We have been engaged to provide custom design services on a wide range of projects. - High-end Custom Residences - Multi-family & Subsidized Housing - Commercial Retail Centers - Courthouse & Municipal Sites - Surgery & Hospice Facilities - Waterfront Marinas STUDENT HOUSING: Residential, retail, and commercial components are designed both to reflect the vibrant nature of their neighborhoods and to embrace environmental strategies & state-of-the-art technologies, such as fully automated parking systems. - Privately Developed Student Housing - Mixed-use Adjacent to Campus
