- Dwight Jennings, founder of OutdoorLink, Inc®, has 35+ years of experience within the billboard industry. Titles range from sales and operations to owner of his own billboard company, Jennings Outdoor. After selling Jennings Outdoor to OCI, who then sold to Lamar Advertising in 1987, Dwight was able to gain a unique insight through this experience that enabled him to identify key issues that continue to plague the Billboard Industry. The 3 Major Issues:1.Control Utility Cost2.Remotely Monitor Unknown Electrical Issues3.Provide Proof of Performance (Real-Time)Thus, Dwight envisioned a product, simple to install and easy to maintain with all required certifications, that would solve industry-wide issues. This product would also require software that was user-friendly with a robust solution that would provide a impact the outdoor business in a positive and beneficial way. In 2007, Dwight formed OutdoorLink®, Inc. and launched the SmartLink; a product designed exclusively for the billboard industry. Currently there are over 60,000 SmartLink units deployed all across the United States. In 2012, OutdoorLink®, Inc. announced the launch of SmartLink International; currently serving the Outdoor Industries of Europe, Mexico, Australia, and China. SmartLink offers the Power to Brighten your Bottom Line. A wireless, M2M lighting controller that enables the User to remotely access, manage and monitor exterior lighting capabilities via computer and/or smart phone. As a result, the SmartLink product continues to enable substantial overall utility savings to the Billboard industry, not to mention the reduction in field service and manpower required.
