• MISSION STATEMENTThe Housing Development Fund, Inc. believes that all households and families should have the opportunity and access to affordable housing, and that affordable housing and economic diversity are beneficial to communities.BACKGROUNDThe Housing Development Fund, Inc was established in 1989 as a nonprofit organization to finance the development of affordable housing. Since then, it has grown to a loan fund with over $93 million in funds under management that encompasses programs for pre-development, acquisition, rehabilitation, and construction of affordable housing as well as down payment and closing cost assistance loans to low- and moderate-income families. Over 1,020 high-quality homes have been built with HDF financing, including senior housing, special needs housing and supportive housing. HDF has helped over 1,500 individuals and families purchase homes with $51 million in financing provided or administered by HDF that has, in turn, leveraged over $234 million in conventional first mortgage activity (as of 4/30/12).Opening Doors to Opportunity http://youtube.com/HDFCT
