Get Full AccessDescription
- Toledo Ohio Pet Services (TOPS) was created to promote not only the physical, emotional, mental and social well being of our pets, but also multi-generational relationships among our residents. TOPS intends to do this by working with local companies and governments to develop and construct high end, high quality dog parts at little or no cost to our citizens (through taxes) and our governments (through construction costs) all the while allowing our local businesses to get more involved in our community.Dog parks create opportunities for people from all generations to come together with a common bond, their pet, and develop community while their pets run, play and enjoy themselves. All in a safe environment designed for them.In 2011, 63,314 dogs were registered in Lucas County. In comparison, 72,891 students were registered for Pre-K-12 in Lucas County for the 2009-2010 school year. There are 211 parks in the greater Toledo area. That's 1 park for every 345 registered students in Lucas County. These parks allow our children to exercise, play, socialize and develop nearly every aspect of their life. There is no park in the greater Toledo area that affords this same benefit for our dogs.
