• Independent record label home of Q*Ball, Return To Earth, The Head Set, Swashbuckle, Black Pig, and Bumblefoot (Ron Thal of Guns N Roses). Founded in 2005 in Jersey City, NJ by Return To Earth vocalist Ron Scalzo to promote and distribute his own material as electronic act Q*Ball, the label expanded when Scalzo's friend and musical co-conspirator, Ron Thal, agreed to release his extensive solo album catalog thru Bald Freak, including his latest, 'Normal'.In 2006, Scalzo signed NY experimental rock act Black Pig (Joe Milazzo, Wayne Schneiderman) and NJ pirate metal band Swashbuckle, who have since signed with Nuclear Blast, and released debuts albums from both acts.In 2007, Scalzo relocated the label to his hometown of Brooklyn, NY, and Bald Freak released Q*Ball's third studio album, 'This Is Serious Business' and the debut album from hard rock act Return To Earth (Scalzo, Brett Aveni, Chris Pennie of Coheed and Cambria/Dillinger Escape Plan fame).In 2008, Bumblefoot's sixth studio album, 'Abnormal' was released soon after he joined Guns N Roses and headed out for a series of extended tours. 2009 was a transitional year for the label, with Scalzo hiring new staffers and expanding the label site to a new facility in Staten Island, NY. Return To Earth began work on their sophomore album 'Automata' and signed with Metal Blade in early 2010.www.baldfreak.com
