- The Louise Brooks Society (www.pandorasbox.com) is an online archive and international fan club devoted to the iconic silent film star. Founded in 1995, the LBS was established as a virtual meeting point for individuals from around the world. The group has more than 1500 members in 50 countries. It is one of the largest such groups of its kind, and is among the largest & most comprehensive websites devoted to any silent movie star. The goals of the Louise Brooks Society are to promote a greater awareness of the actress's life and films. To that end, it has contributed to various books and organized exhibits, screenings, lectures and other events around the world. The LBS maintains an active website and blog, and streams music through its own station, RadioLulu. The LBS is also active on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.The LBS has been praised by Roger Ebert and Leonard Maltin, and in the pages of the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Wired magazine, and elsewhere.
