The agency was founded with a fundamental desire to foster the careers of artists within the Editorial and Commercial photo industry. Rachel Shapiro and Leah Jacobson launched Hello Artists in 2009, having met 5 years earlier as art producers at the advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy. As agents, they bring their professional backgrounds as art producers to every project; their ad-world experience enables them to fully address the needs of clients and photographers.
