Friendship Trays

• What we do with your help: Delivering nutrition and more to neighbors in need! Friendship Trays, the Charlotte based Meals on Wheels program, generally delivers more than 700 meals each weekday to elderly, handicapped, and convalescing people who are unable or greatly restricted in their ability to prepare or secure meals and who reside within the area we can reach with our corps of drivers. While all recipients are asked to pay for their meals based on their ability to pay, recipient income alone does not pay for Friendship Trays. Sponsors include approximately 80 faith-based communities and organizations, as well as civic organizations and businesses. Other groups are welcome to join at any time, through donations of time as volunteers or as donors of the financial resources that allow us to serve all who need nutritious meals. Friendship Kitchen, a division of Friendship Trays, offers catering services run by professionally trained culinary staff. The catering team prepare healthy meals and usually serve produce that is locally sourced. Your purchase directly impacts your neighbors by supporting the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Meals on Wheels program. Friendship Gardens is an expanding network of community, school, faith-based, institutional, public, private, and backyard gardens. Most of our garden partnerships through Friendship Gardens share their harvest for the benefit of Friendship Trays.
