The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation accomplishes its mission in three ways:Caring For AnimalsProvide education programs advocating responsible pet ownership and the importance of veterinary care and providing the public with knowledge and information on caring for and protecting their pets, livestock and wildlifeProvide financial assistance grants for families in need of life-saving or life-changing veterinary care that will save their pet from euthanasia or prolonged suffering.Advancing the ProfessionEnsuring the infusion of bright new medical talent into the profession by providing support to veterinary students through awards and grantsSupporting select programs/projects that advance the art and science of veterinary medicineServing PeopleEnsuring the health and welfare of animals belonging to Meals on Wheels who are homebound, elderly, or disabled, thereby preserving the human-animal bond and improving quality of life for both humans and companion animalsSupport the veterinary community by being the public relations and philanthropic arm of the veterinary professionSupport the veterinary community by providing a contingency fund for disaster and emergency reliefOur HistoryTVMF was founded in 1977 by a group of veterinarians who recognized the need to to increase philanthropic efforts to benefit the public and the veterinary profession.
