• Founded in 1981, The iO Theater (Formerly known as 'The ImprovOlympic') is the world-famous flashpoint of comic creativity that has spawned an entire generation of Americas best and brightest entertainers. Thousands of people have trained and performed at iOs Chicago and Los Angeles theaters, including some of the most recognizable names in show business like Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Tina Fey, David Koechner, Adam McKay, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, Tim Meadows, and many, many more.The iO Theater was founded by its current owner and Artistic Director, Charna Halpern, and her late business and artistic partner, Del Close.The iO West is the Los Angeles branch of the iO Chicago and is managed by Artistic Director, James Grace.
