That rare gift is instilled in Hip-Hop artist ILLZ. The 22 year old, New Jersey native has yet to be discovered but has spent the greater half of his life making music for the love of it.ILLZ (Delgis Mustafa) was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New Jersey at the age of 4. Most started getting in trouble at an early age joining gangs, using drugs, and committing crimes. Throughout this time he started developing a love for music that would keep him away for all these traps. He has the confidence to say he is the best at what he does and verbally destroy competition. Above all, he is not afraid to express his life experiences, regardless of how vulnerable they leave him. He began rapping at the age of 12 and at the age 16 the dream of becoming a Hip-Hop star was firmly planted in his mind. At the age of 17, ILLZ had a choice. He could move to Florida with his family or stay in New Jersey and hope to make it on his own. He felt that moving to Florida would steer him away from his music career. Instead, he got a one-room apartment and struggled month to month to pay his rent. Emotion, passion, and imagery are exactly what he brings back to Hip-Hop. Everything is so hollow today. Theres no substance in the music. Rappers can tell me all day how tough their life was and how hard their block is. I can make you feel what I went through and give you a way out. ILLZ is not the next generation of Hip-Hop; he is the next level of Hip-Hop.
