• YCIS Silicon Valley is an independent non-profit dual language school located in Mountain View, California. YCIS Silicon Valley is proud to be a part of the YCIS family of international schools, which was founded in 1932 by Madam Tsang Chor-hang. Under the vision and direction of the founders daughter, Dr Betty Chan Po-king, Yew Chung International Schools grew from a pioneering early childhood program into a worldwide network of international schools. The Silicon Valley campus was opened in 2002 and serves 240 students in preschool through middle school. While every YCIS school is independently operated, all the campuses share common objectives and educational philosophy. YCIS Silicon Valleys preschool program is fully bilingual with Mandarin and English-speaking co-teachers collaboratively supporting an inquiry-based emergent curriculum. The K-8 program provides a standards-based, balanced curriculum with core academic subjects taught in English, an intensive Chinese Studies program, a Violin program beginning in Kindergarten, a bilingual co-teaching approach to character education, and other co-curricular programs such as art and physical education. YCIS Silicon Valley brings East and West together through both its academic program and vibrant school community.
