VRC also produces 16,500 gallon, 20,500 gallon, and 29,600 gallon tank cars. Vertex Railcar Corporation is also in the manufacturing of covered hopper cars. Vertex currently has a 3,285 cubic foot two bay hopper for the transportation of sand and cement. Vertexs Wilmington facility also builds 6,250 cf plastic pellet hoppers, 2,4800 cf aggregate hoppers, 5,200 or 5,400 cf grain hoppers, and 5,936 cf wood pellet hoppers. VRC also produces flat cars in varies lengths and a 7,500 cf wood chip gondola car.
