• Synchromy is a composers collaborative producing engaging new music events that foster greater understanding and connections between the people of Los Angeles, elevating the presence of the music being created here and around the world. At Synchromy, we elevate the presence, awareness of, and exposure to excellent new music in Southern California. In 2010, we emerged as an informal association of composers presenting their own music while making valuable connections with the larger Los Angeles new music community. We have since grown into a formal organization, and recently filed for 501c3 non-profit organizational status. This is a very exciting time for Synchromy as the new music community in Los Angeles is in the middle of a fundamental shift to the grass-roots level. Local composers and performers are taking their place at the table to present the rich variety of art native to our city and we are energized by our role in this shift. Though we will continue to present music written by Los Angeles-based composers, we are now including other works that complement these compositions and provide our audiences with programming that underscores our important musical, cultural and contextual connections to notable contemporary composers who enrich the landscape for our vision of new Los Angeles music. Our programming has been refined to present each new composition in a performance which complements its artistry and musicality, as well as highlighting the exemplary musicianship of our performers.
