• Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) is a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on educating, inspiring and connecting students & alumni from the LGBTQ MBA & Graduate Communities in an ongoing effort to create the next generation of out business leaderThrough its programming, anchored by its annual conference, Reaching Out: Educates our community about the opportunities and challenges of being an LGBTQ MBA and alumni business leader, how to capitalize on those opportunities, and how to overcome those challenges. Inspires and enables the LGBTQ MBA & graduate community to be leaders in their careers and in society. Builds connections among LGBTQ MBA & graduate community.For much of this content, Reaching Out works closely with corporations and other organizational partners to create appropriate and sustain employment opportunities for these students as they move into their professional careers. However, to ensure that our core audience focuses beyond their personal job pursuits, the organization holds programming designed to focus on leadership & advocate development among LGBT business students and programming that brings a more diverse LGBT population into business school. The organization pursues this mission through a year-round series of global programming, anchored by its annual Reaching Out MBA & Graduate (ROMBA) Conference, which attracted over 1,400 attendees annually. In 2017 the organization will celebrate its 20th annual ROMBA Conference. Reaching Out also partners with a group of leading business schools for the LGBTQ MBA Fellowship, which provides scholarship (over $2M awarded to date) and leadership development opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender & queer MBA students as well as their active allies scholarship and leadership opportunities.
