We use three steps to determine what is best for them: Diagnosis: To identify a student's individual needs, we administer a variety of diagnostic assessments in the relevant skill areas. These assessments will reveal the student's strengths and weaknesses, and be the basis on which we build the individualized tutoring program. We also incorporate additional information provided by the parents and teachers to make sure that we are prioritizing the most important skills. Individualized Programs: Every student has an individualized program built around academic needs and goals. Instruction is delivered by our teachers, who work with no more than three students at a time. This small student-to-teacher ration not only allows the teacher to give direct instruction to the student, but also requires the student to do some independent activities. Motivation: Our motivational system is based on positive reinforcement, reward tokens and certificates, and peer recognition of achievements. This system, along with the friendly, supportive environment, helps students remain positive and focused at the learning center as they work toward their academic goals.
