• Swift Fuels is a global leader in developing unleaded high-octane aviation gasoline for piston engine aircraft. Our 102-Motor Octane avgas products are 2 of the 4 primary alternatives being evaluated by ASTM / FAA to replace 100LL (leaded) avgas. Pilots using 100LL (leaded) avgas currently consume about 200 million gallons per year in US. Our fuels are designed to replace 100LL and thereby eliminate tetraethyllead from avgas. The FAA / PAFI program is currently scheduled to conduct testing until end of 2018. In 2015, Swift Fuels introduced an unleaded 94-motor octane fuel compliant with ASTM D7547 and D7592 Grade UL94 aviation gasoline. This fuel is currently available and being sold to airports throughout the US for use in aircraft that --- a) have an FAA approved autogas STC, or b) are type certificated to use of ethanol-free autogas or unleaded minimum 91-MON avgas from the manufacturer (e.g. light sport aircraft), or c) have an FAA approved avgas STC for use of a minimum 91-MON avgas or higher. This 94-MON fuel can service up to 50% of the US fleet, however it does not replace the need for 100LL or a high octane unleaded avgas for the higher performance aircraft engines in the US fleet. Swift also develops renewable fuel components for jet fuel. Our proprietary technology is unique because our aviation fuel can be refined as low cost fuel components from intermediate feedstock fractions, and our jet fuel components can be manufactured by catalytic synthesis from bio-based feedstocks.
