- Mission: Companies involved in the development, production and marketing of low carbon fuels including advanced ethanol, biodiesel, renewable hydrocarbon diesel, renewable natural gas, drop-in fuels, and renewable jet have joined forces to form the Low Carbon Fuels Coalition (LCFC). The LCFC is a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation engineered to support and expand low carbon fuel policies. Policy Goals: State low carbon fuel policies deliver energy security and real world GHG reductions while powering the expansion of the clean energy economy. California, Oregon and British Columbia have adopted low carbon fuel policies. Washington is actively considering a Cap-and-Trade program to include transportation. As a technology neutral business coalition, the LCFC is uniquely positioned to support and advance these policies. For recent coverage of the organization, see: Low Carbon Fuels Coalition to Launch Low Carbon Fuels Coalition- Connector of Industries and Interests Oregon Vote Approves Second Phase of Clean Fuels Program Strategy: The LCFC achieves its goals by leveraging the following strengths: A diverse membership- LCFC members include Iogen Corporation, Canergy LLC, Propel Fuels, Imperium Renewables LLC, Cool Planet Energy Systems, Promus Energy, California Ethanol and Power, SeQuential Biofuels, Algenol, and AGRON Bioenergy. Advocacy- Graham Noyes, a California attorney known nationally for his work on fuel policy and regulatory issues, is serving as Acting Executive Director. Analysis- AJW Inc., a highly respected and effective consulting firm with offices in DC and Sacramento, is actively engaged in policy analysis for the Coalition. Strategic Relationships- The LCFC works closely with trade associations and NGOs to establish uniform positions across the industry, to communicate key messages, to build alliances, and to coordinate strategy and execution.
