• Established in 2005, Hartung Construction, Inc. is a full service constructor serving industry, institutions and investors whose majority owner is Elizabeth (Beth) Hartung. The firm is based in the Midwest but its client base stretches from the East Coast to the Rockies. Unlike many of our competitors, Hartung Construction employs craft labor (mostly carpenters and laborers) which not only helps control the cost of its projects but also ensures timely completion and quality assurance. Hartung Construction is a commercial general construction company that specializes in office, retail and industrial facilities serving private companies, publicly traded corporations and not-for-profit institutions whose focus is not solely on bottom dollar (and) low bid. The old adage that, 'you get what you pay for' has stood the test of time for a reason.The method by which construction services are delivered is as varied as the clients served. Hartung Construction has been a party to fixed cost or lump/stipulated sum contracts (a/k/a design-bid-build or hard bid), negotiated cost-plus a fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (a/k/a CM at Risk), owner's representative or Construction Management - Agency, and design/build either as a fixed cost contract or cost-plus a fee with a GMP. Each project delivery method has its own advantages. Most of our clients are very sophisticated buyers and they have figured out (probably through trial and error) what works best for them.
