    • Canadian Sweets & Treats (For the US Eh?) was founded in Washington, DC in the fall of 2010, in response to the question, uttered by a curious American: What's a Butter Tart?The discussion that ensued inspired pastry chef Soni Karnik and I to establish a bakery that would not only provide Americans with an intensely satisfying taste of Canada, but would address the egregious gastronomic inequity that has always existed between Canada and the US.Driven by the belief that Americans our best friends, our allies, and trading partners should not be deprived of that which every Canadian can enjoy, Soni and I set out to establish a fair and equitable treat balance between the greatest neighbors in the world: Canadian Sweets & Treats (For the US Eh?).
