• MALK, a plant-based milk company out of Houston, is disrupting the dairy alternative market by providing clean, innovative and delicious, organic nut milks with minimal ingredients. The MALK concept is simple. MALK only uses the ingredients that are necessary when making homemade nut milks. That means no gums, fillers, synthetic vitamins, additives, or carrageenan are ever utilized. With an abundance of 5 organic ingredients or less, MALK is cold-pressed and never heated. Each of the large varieties contain over 1 cup of organic, sprouted nuts. Product shelf life is extended through HPP to provide customers the highest quality of premium dairy alternatives on store shelves. Founded in 2014, as a Mom who was diagnosed with a dairy allergy as a child, when August Vegas son was diagnosed with the same allergy, she went on a mission to find the most beneficial substitute available. The search lead to what most find these days, dairy alternatives with very little whole food. As a working Mom, making homemade milk alternatives was not an option until owners August Vega, Justin Brodnax, and Joel Canada, decided to make MALK their mission and work. MALK started out by selling small batches of organic almond milk and pecan milk at the Urban Harvest farmers market to the local community. Two short years later, we became the 1st company to launch a pecan milk beverage on grocery store shelves. MALK is sold at Whole Foods and Natural Grocers in 4 states, Central Market, and was recently awarded Best Non-Carbonated Beverage of 2015 by BevNET.com.
